You should be able to understand where your contribution goes and help shape its distribution.

Your usage and your settings

With your permission, FediPass considers your interactions and calculates which amounts go to which providers based on your settings. Following, likes and other supported interactions can indicate which content matters to you.

You can inspect the distribution rules and your plan's choices in your FediPass account and adjust them within the permitted limits. Changes to your pass, contribution, distribution and provider weights, as well as pauses, cancellation and resumption of participation, take effect on the first day of the next calendar month. Recipients also manage the start, pause and end of participation in FediPass, effective next month. The current month and previous periods remain unchanged. Only your first paid pass starts immediately after confirmed payment, with a proportional contribution to month end. Fediverse infrastructure and service operation are also part of the distribution.

Not all content is the same

You can even assign a value to each provider. The idea behind weighting is that carefully researched articles and other offerings can receive different weights. You can set your own priorities. If you follow a FediPass provider but do not want to support it at all, you can set its weight to zero. Your pass level determines which settings you can change and their limits.

You decide about using your data

Privacy and transparency matter to us. Analysing your interactions requires your consent. Usage data is technically separated from your billing address. Without personal interaction data, the existing distribution rules and available following data apply. Missing interaction values do not measure your interests; averaging over other users is not promised.
